tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born on February 27, 1976 in Torrance, California. He was raised in the southern part of California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, where he was an outstanding player on the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez continued to be a star in those sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He helped lead the team's football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receptions with nine and tied it. Gonzalez led the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of NCAA basketball tournament within a couple of months. Then he quit school to participate in the 1997 NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as their number thirteen overall. Gonzalez was a player for the Chiefs from 1997 to the year 2008. Then, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He was never able to catch less than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
